Meysam Fathizadeh, a resident of Sirjan, was first arrested on January 1, 2026, and released after a few hours. However, he was re-arrested by intelligence forces at his workplace on January 6, 2026, and remains in detention.
Reports indicate that his mobile phone, identification documents, and bank cards have been confiscated by the authorities. It is said that he went on a hunger strike to protest his arrest but had to end it due to lack of access to medical care and suffering from certain illnesses.
According to those close to him, his family has been threatened by the prosecutor and the case investigator, and he has also been threatened with dismissal from his workplace.
Reports suggest that although the family claims no concrete evidence has been presented against him, the case is still ongoing, and his one-month detention order has been extended without further notice.
