Reports indicate that on the evening of 5 January 2026, Mohammadreza Karami, a young resident of Malekshahi, succumbed to his injuries at Khomeini Hospital in the city. He had been wounded by direct gunfire from government forces during public protests in Malekshahi.
According to informed sources, the young man was targeted by government forces during public protests in Malekshahi on 3 January 2026. He sustained three gunshot wounds to the side and was admitted to the hospital in critical condition, receiving intensive care.
On the same day, during the protests in Malekshahi, government forces used violence and direct gunfire to suppress the demonstrators. This resulted in the deaths of several citizens and injuries to dozens more.
Following the transfer of the injured to Khomeini Hospital in Ilam, government forces stormed the medical facility with the intention of abducting some of the hospitalised injured individuals. This action was met with resistance from the injured individuals' relatives and some medical staff members. Ultimately, the government forces resorted to violence to enter the hospital premises and discharged tear gas within the hospital environment.
بر اساس گزارش ها، شامگاه دوشنبه ۱۵ دی ۱۴۰۴ ، محمدرضا کرمی، جوان اهل ملکشاهی که با شلیک مستقیم نیروهای حکومتی در جریان اعتراضات مردمی در این شهر زخمی شده بود، در بیمارستان خمینی این شهر جان باخت.
به گفته منابع آگاه، این جوان در روز شنبه ۱۳ دی ۱۴۰۴ در جریان اعتراضات مردمی شهر ملکشاهی هدف نیروهای حکومتی قرار گرفته و بر اثر اصابت سه گلوله به ناحیه پهلو، با وضعیت وخیم جسمانی در بیمارستان تحت مراقبت های ویژه قرار گرفته بود.
در همان روز، هم زمان با اعتراضات مردمی در شهرستان ملکشاهی، نیروهای حکومتی با استفاده از خشونت و تیراندازی مستقیم به سوی معترضان، اقدام به سرکوب مردم کردند که در نتیجه آن شماری از شهروندان کشته و ده ها نفر دیگر زخمی شدند.
پس از انتقال مجروحان به بیمارستان خمینی ایلام، نیروهای حکومتی با هدف ربودن تعدادی از مجروحان بستری شده، به این مرکز درمانی یورش بردند که این اقدام با مقاومت بستگان مجروحان و شماری از اعضای کادر درمان مواجه شد و در نهایت نیروهای حکومتی با توسل به خشونت وارد محوطه بیمارستان شده و اقدام به شلیک گاز اشک آور در فضای بیمارستان کردند.
