On 27 October 2025, intelligence agents arrested Salar Khalifeh Zadeh, a citizen from Mahabad, at his workplace, a food stall near Fatemieh School in Mahabad. The arrest occurred without a judicial order, and he was transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to a report by The Human Rights Activists of Iran dated 18 March 2026, Khalifeh Zadeh was moved to Miandoab Prison following protests by prisoners in Mahabad and the suppression of these protests by special forces. He is currently being held in Miandoab Prison under temporary detention.
Available information indicates that prior to the outbreak of the clashes, an indictment had been issued against Khalifeh Zadeh on charges including "membership in opposition groups" and "propaganda against the system." His case has been referred to the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Mahabad for further proceedings.
ماموران اطلاعات روز دوشنبه ۵ آبان ۱۴۰۴ سالار خلیفه زاده، شهروند اهل مهاباد، را در محل کارش ــ دکه فروش خوراکی های آماده نزدیک مدرسه فاطمیه مهاباد، بدون ارائه حکم قضایی بازداشت و به مکان نامعلومی منتقل کردند.
بر اساس خبری در سایت کنشگران حقوق بشر ایران، در تاریخ ۲۸ اسفند ۱۴۰۴، وی در پی اعتراضات زندانیان در زندان مهاباد و سرکوب این اعتراضات از سوی نیروهای یگان ویژه، به زندان میاندوآب منتقل شده است. وی همچنان با قرار بازداشت موقت در زندان میاندوآب نگهداری می شود.
بر اساس اطلاعات موجود، پیش از آغاز درگیری ها، کیفرخواستی علیه این شهروند با اتهام هایی از جمله «عضویت در گروه های معارض» و «تبلیغ علیه نظام» صادر شده و پرونده او جهت رسیدگی به شعبه اول دادگاه انقلاب مهاباد ارجاع داده شده است.
