Rasoul Ghalehni, a 37-year-old resident of Mohammadshahr, Karaj, became immortalized: January 8, 2026. During the national uprising against the Islamic Republic government, Rasoul was shot in the head by a government sniper from the top of the Mohammadshahr police station on the evening of Thursday, January 8. The bullet struck from above and exited through his nose. After being shot, Rasoul's eyes remained open for a few minutes. When his brother, who had lost sight of him in the crowd, arrived, Rasoul closed his eyes forever. His body was kept in the hospital's morgue until Friday. It was then transferred to the "Land of Light" Behesht Noor cemetery. Rasoul's body was not released until noon on Saturday. Finally, his body was buried in a limited and secure ceremony on Saturday, January 10. Security forces did not allow the Ghalehni family to bury their loved one in the city cemetery. Rasoul was married and the father of two children, aged three and nine. He owned a stall in the Karaj fruit and vegetable market, collaborated with seven large stores in Karaj, and had many employees. Rasoul had no economic concerns, but witnessing the difficult living conditions of the people troubled him. That night, when he wanted to join the protesters on the street, his daughter locked the door and asked him to stay home. Rasoul told his daughter, "I'll be back soon. I'm going for the little kids. I'll be back soon so we can have dinner together."
