According to reports, on 21 January 2026, Sediq Yusef Pour Pire Halo, a former political prisoner and member of the Halo mountaineering group from Saqqez, was arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location. Following the arrest, security forces entered his home and conducted a search.
