Mehdi Chabok-Ghoochani passed away on the evening of 9 January 2026 in the Vakilabad area of Mashhad after being struck directly in the heart by a live bullet.
According to those close to him, just one night prior to Mehdi's death, another friend of his also lost their life in Mashhad. Mehdi Chabok-Ghoochani was the father of a 10 years old son.

به گفته نزدیکانش، تنها یک شب پیش از کشته شدن مهدی، یکی دیگر از دوستان او نیز در مشهد جان خود را از دست داده بود. آخرین جمله ای که از او نقل شده این بود: «اگر نرم، بی غیرتم.»
