Shaghayegh Kamali, an Azerbaijani nurse, died from a direct gunshot in Eslamshahr.
Based on information received by the Azerbaijani Human Rights Society, 27-year-old Shaghayegh Kamali, a nurse and Azerbaijani citizen residing in the Vavan district of Eslamshahr, lost her life on January 8, 2026, due to a direct shot from live ammunition by the suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic.
According to those close to the Azerbaijani Human Rights Society, even the announcements related to her were not allowed to remain on the city walls for a day and were removed, an action that suggests an effort to diminish the memory and name of the deceased.
The right to know the truth, the right to mourn, and the right to keep the memory of the victims alive are fundamental rights of families and society. Preventing the dissemination of information can hinder the process of seeking justice and documenting the truth.
