Rasoul Bodaghi is one of eight individuals who were arrested in Izeh during the nationwide protests. This group of eight was detained in Aban 1401 October/November 2022 by order of the case investigator and executed by the IRGC Intelligence agents. After the completion of interrogation procedures, they were transferred to Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz.
According to Human Rights in Iran, on Khordad 25, 1403 June 14, 2024 , the trial date for Vahid Abbasi Bayani—a political defendant from Izeh in Khuzestan Province—was recently set. He and the other codefendants in the case are scheduled to be tried at Branch 4 of the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court on Tir 9, 10, and 11, 1403 June 29–July 1, 2024 .
It is worth noting that Rasoul Bodaghi was arrested by security forces in midAban 1401 early November 2022 in Izeh. After being transferred to the IRGC Intelligence Detention Centre in Ahvaz, he underwent interrogation and was formally charged under intense torture and intimidation. He was eventually moved to Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz. On Esfand 19, 1402 March 9, 2024 , following the conclusion of the investigation and charges, he was released on bail set at 3 billion toman.
He had been subjected to physical torture—including signs of flogging—and intense psychological pressure. During his detention, he was also given pills of unknown nature. Rasoul had previously attempted to end his life several times while in prison.
After months of imprisonment and torture in Sheiban Prison and in the custody of IRGC Intelligence in Ahvaz, he was eventually released. However, he continued to struggle with the deep physical and psychological wounds from that period.
Ultimately, on Mordad 6, 1404 July 28, 2025 , under the weight of ongoing pressure and suffering, Rasoul Bodaghi ended his life.
رسول بداغی یکی از هشت نفری است که در ایذه به هنگام تظاهرات سراسری بازداشت شده. این گروه هشت نفره در آبان ماه سال ۱۴۰۱ به دستور بازپرس پرونده توسط ماموران اطلاعات سپاه پاسداران بازداشت و پس اتمام مراحل بازپرسی، به زندان شیبان اهواز منتقل شدند.
به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران در ۲۵ خرداد ماه ۱۴۰۳، طی روزهای اخیر، زمان دادرسی به اتهامات وحید عباسی بیانی، متهم سیاسی، اهل و ساکن شهرستان ایذه از توابع استان خوزستان، مشخص شد. وی با دیگر متحمان هم پرونده در تاریخ های ۹، ۱۰ و ۱۱ تیر ماه ۱۴۰۳، در شعبه ۴دادگاه انقلاب اهواز محاکمه خواهد شد.
لازم به اشاره است، رسول بداغی اواسط آبان ماه ۱۴۰۱، توسط نیروهای امنیتی در شهرستان ایذه، دستگیر و پس از انتقال به بازداشتگاه مرکزی اطلاعات سپاه پاسداران در شهر اهواز و طی مراحل بازجویی ها و تفهیم در حالی که تحت شدیدترین شکنجه ها و ارعاب قرار گرفتند و در نهایت به زندان شیبان اهواز منتقل و در تاریخ ۱۹ اسفند ماه ۱۴۰۲، پس از طی مراحل بازجویی ها و تفهیم اتهام، با تودیع قرار وثیقه ای به مبلغ ۳ میلیارد تومان، آزاد شد.
وی که تحت شکنجه های جسمی از جمله آثار شلاق و فشارهای شدید روانی قرار داشت در این مدت، قرص هایی با ماهیت نامشخص به او داده می شد. رسول پیش تر نیز چندین بار در زندان تلاش کرده بود به زندگی اش پایان دهد.
پس از ماه ها حبس و شکنجه در زندان شیبان و در بازداشت اطلاعات سپاه اهواز، او سرانجام آزاد شد، اما همچنان با زخم های عمیق روحی و جسمی آن دوران دست وپنجه نرم می کرد.
در نهایت، در روز ۶ مرداد۱۴۰۴در سایه ی همان فشارها و رنج های ادامه دار، رسول بداغی از به زندگی خود پایان داد.
