Jalil Bani Khaled

Jalil Bani Khaled, a political prisoner residing in Abadan, is currently serving his sentence in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz. He was arrested in 2023 and sentenced to four years in prison.

Reports indicate that Jalil Bani Khaled is in the third year of his sentence at Sheiban Prison. He was transferred from Abadan Prison to Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz during the winter of the previous year. Despite having served more than one-third of his sentence, his requests for conditional release and to continue serving his sentence in an open prison have not been accepted.

It has been reported that Jalil Bani Khaled has not been granted leave since the beginning of his sentence. In his absence, his family has faced financial difficulties, his mother's illness and old age, and the responsibility of caring for his school-aged child.

Jalil Bani Khaled was arrested by security forces in 2023 and transferred to Abadan Prison. Later that year, he was sentenced to four years in prison on charges including propaganda against the regime and involvement in clashes with law enforcement and security officers. Investigations into the authority that issued the sentence are ongoing.

Jalil Bani Khaled is the son of Abdolsaeed, a veteran of the Iran-Iraq war, a father of one child, and a resident of Abadan.
