آقای سید عباس شفاعت تنها چند ماه بعد از استقرار نظام جمهوری اسلامی، در تهران تیرباران شده اند. وی در کاشان متولد شد و به عنوان فرمانده تیپ ۵۵ هوابرد در شیراز و فرمانده گارد شاهنشاهی ایران خدمت کرد. گزارش شده است که او به دلیل جراحات شدید سر که در زمان دستگیری متحمل شد، بینایی خود را از دست داد. وی در روز ۲۸ مرداد ۱۳۵۸ تیرباران شد.

Seyed Abbas Shafaat was executed by firing squad in Tehran a few months after the establishment of the Islamic Republic. He was born in Kashan and served as the commander of the 55th Airborne Brigade in Shiraz and the commander of the Imperial Guard of Iran. It has been reported that he lost his eyesight due to severe head injuries sustained during his arrest. He was executed on October 19, 1979
