Habib Khoobipour, a 47-year-old protester, was injured by a gunshot to his chest on 8 January 2026 and, according to the forensic report, died in a hospital in Isfahan on 10 January 2026.
Reports indicate that he was from the Lur community in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province and was participating in protests in Isfahan when he was targeted with a military weapon.
His family received his body on 14 January 2026, with a commitment not to hold a large ceremony or publicise the event, and subsequently buried him.
Habib Khoobipour was a mathematics student who was unable to continue his postgraduate studies due to his political activities during his student years.
It has been reported that he faced pressure for participating in protests against the results of the 2009 presidential election. Although he was accepted for a master's degree in pure mathematics at Chamran University, he was prevented from continuing his studies.
حبیب خوبی پور، معترض ۴۷ساله، در تاریخ 18 دی 1404 با شلیک گلوله به سینه اش زخمی شد و طبق اعلام پزشکی قانونی، در تاریخ 20 دی 1404 در بیمارستانی در اصفهان کشته شده است.
گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که او از مردم لر استان کهگیلویه و بویراحمد بوده و در اعتراضات اصفهان حضور داشته و با اسلحه جنگی هدف قرار گرفته است.
خانواده او در تاریخ 24 دی 1404 پیکر او را با تعهد به عدم برگزاری مراسم پرسر و صدا و بدون اطلاع رسانی تحویل گرفته و به خاک سپرده اند.
حبیب خوبی پور دانشجوی رشته ریاضی بود و به دلیل فعالیت های سیاسی در دوران دانشجویی از ادامه تحصیل در مقطع کارشناسی ارشد بازمانده بود.
گزارش شده است که او به دلیل شرکت در اعتراضات به نتایج انتخابات ریاست جمهوری سال 1388 تحت فشار بوده و با اینکه در مقطع ارشد ریاضی محض در دانشگاه چمران پذیرفته شده بود، مانع تحصیل او شدند.
