It has been reported that his family had no news of him for 12 days from 8 January and searched for him in Tehran and Shahriar. Eventually, on 18 January, they were contacted by the Shapour police station and asked to collect his body.
The forensic medical certificate recorded the cause of death as "impact of high-velocity projectile objects on the body," without mentioning a bullet. His family has stated that they do not know whether he was killed on 8 January or died in the following days, as they were informed of his fate 12 days after losing contact with him.

در گواهی پزشکی قانونی علت مرگ به عنوان "اصابت اجسام پرتابه ای پرسرعت به بدن" ثبت شده است و به گلوله اشاره ای نشده است. خانواده او اظهار داشته اند که نمی دانند او همان روز ۱۸ دی کشته شده یا در روزهای بعد جان باخته است، زیرا ۱۲ روز پس از بی خبری از سرنوشتش مطلع شدند.
