مریم جلال حسینی در جریان تجمع اعتراضی معلمان در تاریخ 19 اردیبهشت ماه در تهران توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت و به زندان قرچک ورامین منتقل شد. گزارش شده است که وی از روز یکشنبه هفتم خردادماه، در اعتراض به محل نگهداری خود در این زندان و عدم انتقال به زندان اوین دست به اعتصاب غذا زده است.

Maryam Jalal Hosseini, a political prisoner, was granted leave from Kachouei Prison in Karaj on Wednesday, July 8th.
Maryam Jalal Hosseini was arrested by security forces during a teachers' protest in Tehran on 19 May and transferred to Qarchak Varamin Prison. It has been reported that she began a hunger strike on Sunday, 28 May, in protest against her detention location and the lack of transfer to Evin Prison.
