Reports indicate that Sajad Abbasi, a shopkeeper from the Arg Bazaar in Kerman, has been in detention since 27 February 2026. During this period, he has had only two brief phone calls, and his family remains unaware of the charges and reasons for his arrest. It is reported that he was detained by security forces at around 11 p.m. near his shop. The officers who arrested him reportedly stated that he was detained on charges of "encouraging people to strike and engage in conflict." Additionally, it has been reported that his shop was sealed by officers the following morning. He had one brief phone call early in his detention and has been denied access to a lawyer and family visits. In another call, he mentioned being transferred to a prison. This suggests that he may have been held in a secure location or a detention facility associated with one of Iran's security agencies and subjected to interrogation.
