Malek Ali Fadaei Nasab was a prisoner sentenced to death, held in Ward 6/1 of Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. On 1 August 2025, the Fourth Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Mashhad sentenced him to death in a retrial related to a joint case.
Several defendants were involved in this case, having been arrested by intelligence agents in 2015 and transferred to Vakilabad Prison approximately one year later. Malek Ali Fadaei Nasab, identified as a citizen of Shia faith, was one of the defendants in this case.
In 2019, the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Mashhad, presided over by Judge Mahmoud Davoodabadi, sentenced Malek Ali Fadaei Nasab to death on charges of "rebellion through membership in the Salafi group Al-Furqan and membership in the National Solidarity Front of Sunni Iranians."
Subsequently, the Supreme Court annulled his death sentence, and the case was referred for retrial to an equivalent branch. However, on 1 August 2025, the Fourth Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Mashhad, led by Judge Ahmadian Salami, issued the death sentence for Malek Ali Fadaei Nasab once again after a new trial.
An informed source close to the prisoner's family stated that the case had fundamental flaws and lacked sufficient evidence to support the charges. According to this source, torture had been inflicted during the interrogation, with reports of the use of pepper spray on the rectum of one of the prisoners cited as examples of this torture, which had left lasting physical effects.
According to a published report, in the early hours of Tuesday, 8 April 2025, Malek Ali Fadaei Nasab, considered a political and ideological prisoner, was executed in Room 4 of Ward 6, Hall 1 of Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
An informed individual also reported that his family had not been able to receive his body, raising serious concerns about the burial location and the possibility of not being able to retrieve his remains.
