حسینعلی سارانی اهل علی آباد کتول، روز ۱۸ دی ماه ۱۴۰۴، در جریان اعتراضات مردمی هدف گلوله قرار گرفت و به بیمارستان الغدیر تهران منتقل شد؛ اما جانش را از دست داد.
خانواده اش پس از یک هفته بی خبری و سرگردانی، موفق شدند پیکر او را تحویل بگیرند؛ تحویلی که بنا بر این روایت، با فشار و مطالبه مبلغی سنگین همراه بوده است.

Hoseinali Sarani was one of the protesters who was shot and killed at the age of 44 during the public protests in December.
Hosseinali Sarani, a resident of Aliabad Katul, was shot during public protests on 18 January. He was transferred to Alghadir Hospital in Tehran but did not survive. After a week of uncertainty, his family was able to retrieve his body. It has been reported that the handover involved pressure and a demand for a substantial amount of money.
