A doctor who had provided medical assistance to injured protesters was abducted by intelligence forces on 5 December 2022 while leaving Kosar Hospital in Sanandaj. The doctor was held for over a month in the Kurdistan intelligence detention centre, where pressure was exerted, and a hunger strike was undertaken for several days. Eventually, the doctor was released on bail, but security pressures and activity restrictions persisted.
According to reports on social media, it has been announced that Dr. Iman Navabi has passed away due to cardiac arrest.
