Milad Shahi, a 26-year-old resident of Nasim Shahr, Tehran, lost his life after being shot directly from behind during the revolutionary uprising on January 8. He was severely injured by the bullet fired by suppressive forces and succumbed to his injuries.
A source familiar with the matter reported that Milad, who was single and worked in a plastic production facility, faced livelihood challenges after his workplace closed. He took to the streets in protest of living conditions. After the shooting, he was taken to a medical center, but despite pleas for medical attention, effective help was not received. He was then transferred by ambulance to Sabzdasht Hospital, where it was determined that he was no longer breathing, with a bullet having struck him in the back of the head.
Milad Shahi's body was not handed over to his family the following day. On January 10, amidst thousands of bodies at the forensic medicine facility, his family was able to identify him. His body was finally laid to rest on January 11 at Behesht Zahra. Authorities have promised to identify the shooter, while eyewitnesses have reported that Milad was killed by suppressive forces.
According to those close to him, Milad's wish was "justice in Iran, the eradication of corruption, freedom, and happiness for the people," a wish that remained unfulfilled with his passing.

میلاد شاهی ۲۶ ساله و ساکن نسیم شهر تهران در جریان خیزش انقلابی در روز ۱۸ دی ماه با اصابت گلوله مستقیم نیروهای سرکوبگر از پشت سر به شدت مجروح شد و جان خود را از دست داد.
به گفته یک منبع مطلع میلاد که مجرد بود و در یک تولیدی پلاستیک کار می کرد پس از تعطیلی محل کارش با مشکلات معیشتی روبه رو شده بود و در اعتراض به شرایط زندگی به خیابان رفته بود. پس از تیراندازی او را به یک مرکز درمانی منتقل کردند اما با وجود التماس برای رسیدگی پزشکی کمک موثری دریافت نکردند و سپس با آمبولانس به بیمارستان سبزدشت انتقال یافت؛ جایی که مشخص شد او دیگر نفس نمی کشد و گلوله از پشت به سرش اصابت کرده است.
پیکر میلاد شاهی در روز بعد به خانواده تحویل داده نشد و خانواده او در تاریخ ۲۰ دی ماه در میان هزاران پیکر در پزشکی قانونی موفق به شناسایی اش شدند. سرانجام پیکر او در ۲۱ دی ماه در بهشت زهرا به خاک سپرده شد.
مسئولان وعده شناسایی عامل تیراندازی را داده اند در حالی که شاهدان عینی دیده اند که میلاد توسط نیروهای سرکوب کشته شد.
به گفته نزدیکانش آرزوی میلاد «عدالت در ایران نابودی فساد آزادی و شادی برای مردم» بود؛ آرزویی که با جان باختن او ناتمام ماند.
