It is noteworthy that Davood Hormatnejad was arrested on June 16, 2023, in the village of Pijab in the Basht County by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence. He was transferred to the detention center of the General Directorate of Intelligence in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province in Yasuj for the formation of a judicial case. After undergoing interrogation, he was moved to the youth ward and Ward 2 of Yasuj Central Prison and later transferred to Ahvaz Central Prison.

روز پنجشنبه ۲۵مرداد ماه ۱۴۰۳، زمان و شعبه دادرسی به اتهامات داوود حرمت نژاد مشخص شد. به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، روز شنبه ۲۷مرداد ماه ۱۴۰۳، متهم سیاسی، اهل روستای پیجاب از توابع استان خوزستان، محبوس و بلاتکلیف در زندان شیبان مرکزی اهواز، توسط قاضی شعبه دادگاه انقلاب اهواز، محاکمه خواهد شد.
به نقل از یک فرد مطلع :”اتهامات مندرج در کیفرخواست صادره بر علیه این فرد «اجتماع و تبانی به قصد برهم زدن امنیت کشور»، «فعالیت تبلیغی علیه نظام» و «عضویت در گروه و دسته ـ سازمان مجاهدین خلق به قصد برهم زدن امنیت کشور» عنوان شده است.
لازم به اشاره است، داوود حرمت نژادد، در تاریخ ۲۶ خرداد ماه ۱۴۰۲، در روستای پیچاب از توابع شهرستان باشت، توسط ماموران وزارت اطلاعات، دستگیر و برای تشکیل پرونده قضایی به بازداشتگاه اداره کل اطلاعات استان کهگیلویه و بویراحمد در شهر یاسوج منتقل و پس از طی مراحل بازجویی ها به بند جوانان و بند ۲ زندان مرکزی یاسوج منتقل و چندی بعد به زندان مرکزی اهواز، منتقل شدند.
وی پس از طی مراحل بازجویی ها برای مدتی طولانی با وضعیت بلاتکلیف در بازداشت موقت بسر برده و از حقوق اولیه یک متهم محروم بوده است
