Danial Barketai, a graphic design student at Islamic Azad University of Roudehen, was a professional artist and photographer. On the night of 8 January 2026, during protests in Tehran, he was shot by security forces from a mosque at the corner of Bagheri Street. He was shot from behind, with the bullet hitting his lung, resulting in his death. His family identified his body in Kahrizak on 11 January 2026. His paternal family, who supported the government, reportedly listed him among the deceased Basij members and held a ceremony for him, a claim his mother disputes.
A memorial ceremony was held on 19 February 2026.
دانیال برکتی دانشجوی رشته گرافیک دانشگاه آزاد رودهن، هنرمند و عکاس حرفه ای بود. در شب ۱۸ دی ۱۴۰۴در اعتراضات تهران ماموران رژیم از مسجد سر خیابون نبش باقری، از بین جمعیت به او شلیک کردند. از پشت به او شلیک شد، گلوله به ریه اصابت کرد و او کشته شد. خانواده جسد او در ۲۱ دی در کهریزک شناسایی میکنند. خانواده پدری او که طرفدار رژیم بودند نام او را میان کشته شدگان بسیجی اعلام کردند و برایش مراسم گرفته اند ولی مادر وی این ادعا را رد میکند.
مراسم چهلم هم در تاریخ ۳۰ بهمن ماه ۱۴۰۴ برگزار شد.
