Saman Younes Darmian, born in 2005, was killed by gunfire during protests in Mashhad on 9 January 2026. He was injured by a direct bullet to his side on Tous Boulevard near Meraj Square. It was reported that due to ongoing shooting and the crowd, he could not be quickly transported to the hospital, resulting in his death from severe bleeding.
Saman was taken to Taleghani Hospital on Payambar Azam Boulevard, but due to the crowd and the high number of injured individuals, he did not receive the necessary medical attention and passed away. His body was handed over to his family for burial two days after his death, on 11 January 2026.
Reports indicated that his body was transferred to Behesht Reza in Mashhad, but a burial permit was not issued there, and it was announced that he should be buried in his ancestral village. Security forces conditioned the release of his body on holding a quiet and unceremonious burial in his ancestral village. Ultimately, Saman Younes Darmian was laid to rest in Valiabad village, Mashhad, beside his father's grave.
سامان یونس درمیان، متولد ۱۳۸۴، در تاریخ ۱۹ دی ۱۴۰۴ در جریان اعتراضات شهر مشهد با شلیک گلوله کشته شد. او در بلوار توس مشهد در محدوده میدان معراج با شلیک مستقیم گلوله به پهلو زخمی شد. گزارش شده است که به دلیل ادامه تیراندازی و ازدحام جمعیت، امکان انتقال سریع او به بیمارستان فراهم نشد و در نتیجه بر اثر خونریزی شدید جان خود را از دست داد.
سامان به بیمارستان طالقانی در بلوار پیامبر اعظم منتقل شد، اما به دلیل شلوغی و تعداد بالای مجروحان، رسیدگی لازم به او صورت نگرفت و او جان باخت. پیکر او دو روز پس از کشته شدن، در تاریخ ۲۱ دی ۱۴۰۴ برای خاکسپاری به خانواده اش تحویل داده شد.
گزارش شده است که پیکر او به بهشت رضای مشهد منتقل شد، اما جواز دفن در آنجا صادر نشد و اعلام شد که باید در روستای پدری اش دفن شود. نیروهای امنیتی تحویل پیکر را مشروط به برگزاری مراسم خاکسپاری بدون تشریفات و به صورت بی صدا در روستای پدری کرده بودند. در نهایت، پیکر سامان یونس درمیان در روستای ولی آباد مشهد و در کنار مزار پدرش به خاک سپرده شد.
