بعد از دستگیری، شایعات زیادی درباره ناپدیدسازی قهری یا قتل او پخش شد و برخی رسانه ها و فعالان او را «ندا بیات» معرفی کردند.
۱۰ آبان: تلویزیون دولتی زنجان ویدئویی از او پخش کرد و نامش را اعظم امندی اعلام کرد. او در این ویدئو گفت زنده است و مشکلات روحی دارد.
۸ آبان (یا حوالی آن): در دادگاه زنجان حاضر شد و از اتهامات دفاع کرد. مقامات قضایی تأکید کردند که او زنده است و «ندا بیات» نام واقعی اش نیست.

On 26 October 2022, an individual climbed onto the roof of a police vehicle at Saadi Square in Zanjan and chanted slogans as a form of protest. Following the arrest, numerous rumours circulated regarding the possibility of enforced disappearance or death, with some media outlets and activists referring to the individual as "Neda Bayat."
On 31 October 2022, Zanjan state television broadcast a video featuring the individual, identifying her as Azam Amandi. In the video, she stated that she was alive and experiencing mental health issues. Around 30 October 2022, she appeared in a Zanjan court to defend herself against the charges. Judicial authorities emphasised that she was alive and that "Neda Bayat" was not her real name.
