Sirous Abbasi

According to reports, on 28 September 2023, Siros Abbasi, a cultural activist from Dehgolan, was released from Qorveh prison after posting bail. This release followed the receipt of a release letter from Qorveh prison.

Siros Abbasi was arrested by security forces in Dehgolan on 9 September 2023 and transferred to Qorveh prison.

Previously, on 21 September 2022, he was arrested by security forces in Dehgolan and transferred to the detention centre of the Intelligence Office in Sanandaj. After undergoing interrogation and being charged, he was moved to Sanandaj prison and later released on bail. However, on 27 November 2022, he was sentenced to 10 months of imprisonment for propaganda activities against the regime, 18 months for disrupting public order and security, and 4 years for assembly and collusion against national security.

On 14 January 2020, Siros Abbasi was arrested following a raid by Dehgolan Intelligence Office agents at his workplace in an educational centre and transferred to the security agency's detention centre in Sanandaj. He was released on bail on 7 March 2020 after interrogation and being charged, and in January 2021, he was sentenced to 2 years of suspended imprisonment by the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court.

His first arrest occurred on 9 August 2019 for posting on his personal page and expressing support for the signatories of a statement by 14 civil activists. He was released on bail after a period of detention.
