Ali Houshmandi

Ali Houshmandi Fotovat was released from the Greater Tehran Prison's Ward 6 on 11 March 2023. He had been detained during the nationwide protests of 2022 and was released following a directive from the judiciary and the issuance of a non-prosecution order.

In early February 2023, Ali Houshmandi Fotovat was released from prison after the judiciary's directive and the issuance of a non-prosecution order. His release was in line with this directive.

On 7 November 2022, Ali Houshmandi Fotovat was tried by Branch 29 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on various charges, including propaganda activities against the system, assembly and collusion with the intent to commit crimes against national security, disturbing public order, and destruction of public property.

During the court session, it was claimed that Ali Houshmandi Fotovat participated in protests in Tehran on 23 September 2022 and committed offences. He was also accused of preparing and delivering car tyres and industrial alcohol to create fires, block vehicle paths, and set fire to rubbish bins. Additionally, it was alleged that he set fire to an advertising banner beside a highway and engaged in activities against the system on social media.
