Maede Jamal Livani, an undergraduate electrical engineering student at Noshirvani University in Babol, was abducted in front of her dormitory by security agents on the first of Mehr 1401 (September 23, 2022).
A video of her abduction and her heartbreaking cries have gone viral on the internet, in which she screams "Mom, Mom, help, help".
Following this abduction and other arrests, the students of this university issued a statement on the fifth of Mehr 1401 (September 27, 2022):
"Another bloody page of our country's history has turned, and once again our motherland, Iran, is mourning the death and imprisonment of its most worthy youths.
We hereby announce that we, the students of Noshirvani Industrial University, at the invitation of free-thinking and concerned students from universities across Iran, are joining the Iranian freedom movement, and in protest of the current situation, the widespread cowardly arrests of students, and the unjust virtualization of the university despite severe internet disruptions, until the fate of the detained students is clarified and they are unconditionally returned to face-to-face classes, we will refrain from participating in all virtual classes!
It is time for us students, with you professors as our guide, to protest against anything that deprives a human being of the right to live and be free. We ask all respected professors and honorable families of the university to unanimously accompany us in this humane act.

مائده جمال لیوانی دانشجوی کارشناسی مهندسی برق از دانشگاه نوشیروانی بابل در اول مهر ماه 1401 در مقابل در خوابگاه دانشگاه توسط ماموران امنیتی ربوده شد.
فیلمی از ربایش او و فریادهای دلخراشش در اینترنت وایرال شده است که در آن فریاد میزند "مامان مامان کمک کمک".
در پی این ربایش و سایر دستگیریها دانشچویان این دانشگاه بیانیه ای در تاریخ پنجم مهرماه 1401 به این مضمون منتشر کردند:
" برگ دیگری از تاریخ خونین کشورمان ورق خورده و باز هم مادرمان ایران زمین، در سوگِ مرگ و حصر شایسته ترین جوانان خود نشسته است.
بدین وسیله، به اطلاع می رسانیم، ما دانشجویان دانشگاه صنعتی نوشیروانی، به دعوت دانشجویان آزاده و دغدغه مند از دانشگاه های سراسر ایران، به خیزش آزادی خواه ایران می پیوندیم، و برای اعلان همبستگی با مردم ایران عزیزمان در اعتراض به وضع فعلی، بازداشت گستردۀ ناجوانمردانۀ دانشجویان و مجازی شدنِ غیرموجهِ دانشگاه با وجود اخلال شدید در اینترنت، تا روشن شدن تکلیف دانشجویان بازداشتی و بازگشت بی قید و شرط آنها به کلاس های درس حضوری، از شرکت در تمامی کلاس های مجازی، خودداری خواهیم کرد!
زمان آن رسیده که ما دانشجویان به پشوانه شما اساتید، اعتراض خود را به هر امری که باعث گرفته شدن حق زیستن و آزادی از انسان شود، اعلان کنیم. از تمامی اساتید محترم و خانواده شرافتمند دانشگاه خواستاریم که متحدانه در این اقدام انسانی، ما را همراهی کنند.
