Shayan Seyednazari

Shayan Seyednazari, a boxer and multiple-time national champion who was invited to join Iran's national boxing team, has been sentenced to four years and four months in prison by the Second Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Bojnord.

According to available information, Shayan Seyednazari was arrested during the protests in November 2022 and again on 4 January 2026. Following his most recent arrest, he spent some time in Bojnord prison before being temporarily released on bail.

A hearing regarding his charges was held on 5 April 2025 at the Second Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Bojnord. He faced charges of "assembly and collusion against the regime," "participation in gatherings," and "propaganda against the regime."

According to the issued verdict, Shayan Seyednazari was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison for the charge of assembly and collusion, and eight months for propaganda against the regime. Due to the application of regulations concerning multiple offences, the most severe punishment, three years and eight months in prison, will be enforceable.

Shayan Seyednazari had previously been arrested during the November 2022 protests. Reports indicate that during his arrest, after objecting to the treatment of a middle-aged woman by officers in Shahid Square, Bojnord, he was struck with batons and sustained a head injury. His case was closed at that time following a pardon in 2022.
