Davoud Razavi

Davood Razavi, a board member of the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, was arrested on 27 September 2022 and transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison. He was moved to Greater Tehran Prison on 18 December 2022 and later to Ward 6 of Evin Prison on 9 April 2023.

On 7 June 2023, the labour activist, who was being held in Ward 4 of Evin Prison, was sentenced by Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court to five years of imprisonment and additional penalties. According to the verdict, Davood Razavi was convicted of "assembly and collusion against national security" and sentenced to five years of imprisonment, along with a two-year ban on activities in cyberspace and participation in political groups and parties.

Reports indicate that his charges included "membership in the board of the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, gathering in front of the Parliament and Municipality for housing and labour demands, organising labour protests at the company, attending the International Labour Organization conference, communicating with syndicate colleagues, and meeting with French syndicate teachers."

It has been reported that he has suffered from gastrointestinal bleeding in prison and has been denied appropriate medical care.

According to the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, Davood Razavi was scheduled to be transferred to a hospital for an endoscopy on 26 June 2023, but this transfer was prevented. He has also been denied hospital transfer on another occasion. His physical condition has reportedly deteriorated significantly following prolonged interrogations and solitary confinement.
