A report indicates that on Sunday, April 14, 2024, Yashar Soltani, a journalist and media activist residing in Tehran, was summoned to the prosecutor's office following a complaint by the Tehran prosecutor to initiate a legal case. The report mentioned that after the publication of false information regarding currency prices on the Esken News Telegram channel, which could have caused public concern and infringed on public rights, the Tehran prosecutor summoned the owner of this Telegram channel and initiated a legal case against them.
This media activist and journalist was summoned to the prosecutor's office on January 20, 2020, and after going through the interrogation process and being charged, he was released. Later, he was sentenced by Abolqasem Salavati, a judge at Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, to five years of imprisonment and a ban on activities in cyberspace for charges related to disturbing public opinion following revelations about astronomical properties in the Tehran municipality.
Previously, on January 27, 2019, Yashar Soltani was sentenced by Abolfazl Salavati at Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court to five years of imprisonment and a two-year ban on membership in political parties, groups, and factions, as well as activities in cyberspace, media, and press, and leaving the country. The charges included collecting and disseminating classified information related to the National Inspection Organization, publishing false information with the intent to disturb public opinion, defamation against Teklar Construction Company, and threats against Teklar Construction Company.
Yashar Soltani, the editor-in-chief of the Memari News website, was summoned to the Tehran Media Court on September 17, 2016, for revealing the list of properties allocated by the Tehran municipality. He was arrested and, after completing the interrogation process and the case file, was temporarily released on November 12, 2016, upon posting bail of 200 million tomans.
Additionally, Yashar Soltani is known for exposing the land-grabbing case involving the Tehran Friday prayer leader Sediqi, where the deed for the Azgol garden was transferred to his name and his sons.

به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران به نقل از دیدبان ایران، امروز یکشنبه ۲۶ فروردین ماه ۱۴۰۳، یاشار سلطانی، روزنامه نگار و فعال رسانه ای، ساکن تهران، در پی شکایت دادستان تهران، به شعبه بازپرسی برای تشکیل پرونده قضایی احضار شد.
در این گزارش، به نقل از دادستانی تهران، عنوان شد:”بعد از انتشار مطالب کذب در خصوص قیمت ارز در کانال تلگرامی اسکان نیوز که میتوانست موجب نگرانی مردم و تضییع حقوق عامه شود، دادستانی تهران صاحب این کانال تلگرامی را احضار و برای وی پرونده قضایی تشکیل شد.”
این فعال رسانه ای و روزنامه نگار، در تاریخ ۳۰ دی ماه ۱۳۹۸، به دادسرا احضار و پس از طی مراحل بازپرسی و تفهیم اتهام آزاد شد و پس از مدتی توسط ابوالقاسم صلواتی ـ قاضی شعبه ۱۵ دادگاه انقلاب تهران، از بابت اتهام تشویش اذهان عمومی مرتبط با افشاگری این فعال رسانه ای از بابت املاک نجومی در شهرداری تهران، به تحمل ۵ سال حبس تعزیری و محرومیت از فعالیت در فضای مجازی محکوم شده بود.
یاشار سلطانی، پیشتر هم در تاریخ ۷ بهمن ۱۳۹۷، توسط ابوالفاسم صلواتی در شعبه ۱۵ دادگاه انقلاب تهران، از بابت اتهامات جمع آوری و انتشار اطلاعات طبقه بندی شده مربوط به سازمان بازرسی کشور ، نشر مطالب خلاف واقع به قصد تشویش اذهان عمومی ، افترا نسبت به شرکت عمران تکلار و تهدید نسبت به شرکت عمران تکلار ، به تحمل ۵ سال حبس تعزیری و ۲سال ممنوعیت از عضویت در احزاب، گروه ها، دسته جات سیاسی، فعالیت در فضای مجازی و رسانه ها و مطبوعات و خروج از کشور محکوم شده بود.
یاشار سلطانی، مدیرمسئول سایت معماری نیوز، در تاریخ ۲۷ شهریورماه ۱۳۹۵ به دلیل افشای لیست واگذاری های شهرداری تهران، به دادگاه رسانه تهران احضار و بازداشت شده بود و پس از طی مراحل بازجوئی و تکمیل پرونده جهت ارجاع به دادگاه جهت محاکمه در تاریخ ۲۲ آبان ماه ۱۳۹۵ همان سال با تودیع قرار وثیقه ای به مبلغ ۲۰۰ میلیون تومان بطور موقت آزاد شد.
