Reports indicate that a former political prisoner named Omid Cheraghi from Kermanshah, who is serving his sentence with an electronic ankle monitor, has been denied access to appropriate medical services and parole. He has developed a severe heart condition and urgently requires specialised medical care.
It is reported that Omid Cheraghi was arrested in the border areas on 20 February 2024 and was held in solitary confinement for 76 days under psychological and physical pressure. During this period, he suffered a heart attack but was not transferred to medical facilities outside the prison. After serving two years of his sentence, Omid Cheraghi has been released with an electronic ankle monitor and must serve the remainder of his sentence under electronic supervision.
Reports suggest that discriminatory behaviour is being applied against this political prisoner. While other prisoners with electronic ankle monitors are using their legal leave rights, Omid Cheraghi and three other political prisoners have been deprived of this right. It has also been stated that he is unable to endure this situation and the additional pressures.

گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که رفتارهای تبعیض آمیز علیه این زندانی سیاسی اعمال می شود. در حالی که سایر زندانیان دارای پابند الکترونیکی از حق مرخصی قانونی خود استفاده می کنند، امید چراغی و سه زندانی سیاسی دیگر از این حق محروم شده اند. همچنین اعلام شده است که او توان تحمل این وضعیت و فشارهای مضاعف را ندارد.
