Mehrad Salimi, a hairdresser and resident of Hashtgerd, lost his life on 8 January 2026 during protests in the vicinity of Mosalla Boulevard in Hashtgerd. It has been reported that Mehrad Salimi was severely injured by gunshots to the leg and heart and was transferred to Jafar Sadegh Hospital in Hashtgerd, but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
According to available information, Mehrad Salimi's body was handed over to his family on 9 January and was buried at Jafar Sadegh Cemetery in Hashtgerd. It has been stated that security officials emphasised to the family that the burial ceremony should be conducted as quickly as possible and without gatherings.
It has also been reported that at the time of the body's handover, a sum close to one billion tomans was paid by the family. The family of Mehrad Salimi did not permit him to be introduced as a Basij martyr.
Mehrad Salimi was unmarried and, in addition to his work as a hairdresser, had an interest in music and singing. Those close to him have mentioned that before leaving, Mehrad repeatedly emphasised that he was going to the streets for his country and was aware he might not return.
مهران سلیمی، آرایشگر و ساکن هشتگرد، در تاریخ 18 دی ماه 1404 در جریان اعتراضات در محدوده بلوار مصلی هشتگرد با شلیک دو گلوله جنگی جان خود را از دست داده است. گزارش شده است که مهران سلیمی با اصابت گلوله به ناحیه پا و قلب به شدت مجروح شده و به بیمارستان جعفر صادق هشتگرد منتقل شده است، اما به دلیل شدت جراحات در همان ساعات اولیه جان باخته است.
بر اساس اطلاعات موجود، پیکر مهران سلیمی در تاریخ 19 دی ماه به خانواده تحویل داده شده و در آرامستان جعفر صادق هشتگرد به خاک سپرده شده است. گفته شده است که مقام های امنیتی به خانواده تأکید کرده اند که مراسم خاکسپاری باید در کوتاه ترین زمان ممکن و بدون تجمع برگزار شود.
همچنین گزارش شده است که هم زمان با تحویل پیکر، مبلغی نزدیک به یک میلیارد تومان از سوی خانواده پرداخت شده است. خانواده مهران سلیمی اجازه نداده اند که او به عنوان شهید بسیجی معرفی شود.
مهران سلیمی مجرد بود و علاوه بر فعالیت به عنوان آرایشگر، به موسیقی نیز علاقه داشت و آواز می خواند. نزدیکان او گفته اند که مهران پیش از رفتن بارها تأکید کرده بود که برای کشورش به خیابان می رود و می دانست ممکن است بازنگردد.
