Mohammad Hossein Parnoon

Mohammad Hossein Parnoun, a boxer from Khorramabad, lost his life on 8 January 2026 in the Masour neighbourhood due to direct gunfire from security forces. He was unarmed, and his body was returned to his family on the condition that no public ceremony would be held.

The young boxer was returning home from a sports club when he was shot by security forces. He was a member of the national youth boxing team. During the protests on 8 January 2026, Mohammad Hossein Parnoun was shot and killed.

His body was found in the Khorramabad morgue and was handed over to his family three days later. Mohammad Hossein was laid to rest on 11 January 2026 at the Sarab Yas cemetery in Khorramabad.

Mohammad Hossein lived with his family in the Kiu neighbourhood of Khorramabad and was also employed in construction work. A ceremony was held in his memory, where his belts and trophies were displayed.

During the protests in January 2026, numerous children lost their lives due to gunfire from security forces, leaving their families in mourning. The extent of the crackdown on protesters during these events remains unclear, and many of those killed remain unidentified.
