در تظاهرات ۲۴ ابان ماه ۱۴۰۱ که مهدی کابلی کفشگیری و دوستش با موتورسیکلت در حال فرار بودند، نیروهای امنیتی با باتوم به سر او زدند و او به زمین افتاد. به اعتراف شاهدان صحنه، نیروهای امنیتی با موتور سیکلت خود او را زیر گرفته و او را کشتند. رد چرخ های موتورسیکلتشان هم روی گردنش نمایان بود. او به کما رفت و در اول آذر ۱۴۰۱ درگذشت.
During the protests on the 15th of November 2022 whenMehdi KaboliKafshgiri and his friend were running away on a motorcycle, the security forces hit him on the head with a baton, and he fell down. As the witnesses at the scene admit, the security forces ran over him by their motorcycles and killed him. The traces of their motorcycle wheels were also visible on his neck.He went to coma and died on 22nd November 2022.
