According to Human Rights in Iran, on Thursday, June 15, 2023, Mohammad Esmaili, a citizen of Piranshahr, West Azarbaijan, was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in prison by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad, headed by Amir Ojaklou. According to the decree issued by the first branch of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court, which was served to the accused in this case, Mohammad Esmaili is accused of "acting against national security through membership in parties opposed to the regime".
It is necessary to mention that Mohammad Esmaili was arrested by the security forces in Mahabad city in October 2023 and after being transferred to Urmia, the capital of West Azarbaijan province, and during the process of interrogation and investigation, he was transferred to Naqdeh prison and released on bail in 2022.
به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، روز پنجشنبه ۲۵ خرداد ماه ۱۴۰۲، محمد اسماعیلی شهروند اهل شهرستان پیرانشهر از توابع استان آذربایجان غربی، توسط شعبه اول دادگاه انقلاب شهرستان مهاباد به ریاست امیر اوجاقلو، در ۲ سال و ۸ ماه حبس تعزیری محکوم شد. براساس دادنامه صادره توسط شعبه اول دادگاه انقلاب مهاباد که به متهم این پرونده ابلاغ شده اتهام محمد اسماعیلی "اقدام علیه امنیت ملی از طریق عضویت در احزاب مخالف نظام" است
لازم به اشاره است، محمد اسماعیلی، در مهر ماه ۱۴۰۱، توسط نیروهای امنیتی در شهرستان مهاباد، بازداشت و پس از انتقال به ارومیه مرکز استان آذربایجان غربی و طی مراحل بازجویی و تفهیم اتهام به زندان شهرستان نقده منتقل و در دی ماه ۱۴۰۱ با تودیع قرار وثیقه آزاد شد.
