In September 2025, Yaser Sharifian was sentenced by a judge of the Oshnavieh Revolutionary Court to four years of imprisonment. The charges against him included "propaganda activities against the regime," "possession of a loaded weapon," and "collaboration with a Kurdish opposition party to the Iranian government."
He was arrested by security forces on 6 May 2025 and, after being transferred to a detention centre of a security and law enforcement agency, underwent interrogation and was charged. Subsequently, he was transferred to Oshnavieh County Prison. On 2 June 2025, he was released from Oshnavieh County Prison after posting bail valued at 1 billion tomans.
یاسر شریفیان در شهریورماه ۱۴۰۴ توسط قاضی دادگاه انقلاب اشنویه به تحمل ۴ سال حبس تعزیری محکوم شد. اتهامات وی شامل «فعالیت تبلیغی علیه نظام»، «نگهداری سلاح پر» و «همکاری با یکی از احزاب کرد اپوزیسیون حکومت ایران» بوده است.
وی در ۱۷ اردیبهشت ماه ۱۴۰۴ توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت و پس از انتقال به بازداشتگاه یکی از نهادهای امنیتی و انتظامی و طی مراحل بازجویی و تفهیم اتهام به زندان شهرستان اشنویه منتقل شد. در ۱۲ خرداد ماه ۱۴۰۴ با تودیع وثیقه به ارزش ۱ میلیارد تومان از زندان شهرستان اشنویه آزاد شد.
