On the evening of 8 January 2026, a Kurdish citizen named Reza Haji Moradi, originally from Eslamabad-e Gharb and residing in Karaj, reportedly died due to direct gunfire from the forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during public protests in Fardis, Karaj.
It was reported that he was shot in the chest and his companions took him to a residential parking area. A trusted doctor there indicated that he had been hit by pellets and was not in an emergency condition, advising them to take him home. However, his condition worsened after one or two hours, and he was transferred to a hospital.
At Salamat Hospital in Malard, Reza Haji Moradi's companions were not admitted, and they were informed that medical attention was being provided. Around 11 p.m., his companions were notified that he had died.
Reza Haji Moradi's body was identified at the Kahrizak Forensic Medicine Centre a few days later. He was buried in his hometown of Qasr-e Shirin on 11 January.
گزارش شده است که در شامگاه 18 دی 1404، یک شهروند کرد به نام رضا حاجی مرادی، اهل اسلام آبادغرب و ساکن کرج، در جریان اعتراضات مردمی در فردیس کرج بر اثر شلیک مستقیم نیروهای جمهوری اسلامی ایران جان باخته است.
گفته شده که تیر به سینه او شلیک شده و همراهانش او را به پارکینگ منزلی برده اند. پزشک معتمدی در آنجا اعلام کرده که او ساچمه خورده و وضعیت اورژانسی ندارد و توصیه کرده او را به خانه ببرند. اما پس از یکی دو ساعت حال او بدتر شده و به بیمارستان منتقل شده است.
بیمارستان سلامت در ملارد همراهان رضا حاجی مرادی را نپذیرفته و اعلام کرده که رسیدگی ها انجام می شود. حدود ساعت یازده شب به همراهان او خبر داده شده که وی کشته شده است.
پیکر رضا حاجی مرادی پس از چند روز در مرکز پزشکی قانونی کهریزک شناسایی شده است. او در 21 دی در زادگاهش قصر شیرین به خاک سپرده شد.
