A resident of West Azerbaijan Province, Ghadir Kharamanfar, was arrested by security forces in Mahabad on 25 December 2024. He was subsequently transferred to the detention centre of the General Directorate of Intelligence in Urmia. After undergoing interrogation and being informed of the charges against him, he was moved to Mahabad Prison on 25 February 2025.
Reports from Human Rights in Iran indicated that he was denied adequate medical treatment for his illnesses. Despite more than six months passing since his arrest and the completion of interrogations and investigations, his release on bail was not approved. He suffers from coronary artery disease, fatty liver, high blood pressure, and knee arthritis. Due to the inadequate quality of medical services in Mahabad Prison and his advanced age, he was deprived of proper medical care. However, on 18 June 2025, he was transferred to a hospital outside the prison with handcuffs and shackles, where a doctor described his physical condition as critical.
On 13 December 2025, after one year of detention, he was temporarily released from Mahabad Prison on a bail of four billion tomans. His case, involving charges of "membership in opposition groups," is under review in the first branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Mahabad.
قادر خرامان فر، این شهروند اهل و ساکن استان آذربایجان غربی در تاریخ ۲۵ آذر ماه ۱۴۰۳، توسط ماموران امنیتی در شهرستان مهاباد، دستگیر و پس از انتقال به بازداشتگاه اداره کل اطلاعات استان آذربایجان غربی در شهر ارومیه و طی مراحل بازجویی ها و تفهیم اتهام، در تاریخ ۲۵ بهمن ماه ۱۴۰۳، به زندان شهرستان مهاباد، منتقل شد.
به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران در روز جمعه ۶ تیر ماه ۱۴۰۴، وی از حق درمان قطعی بیماریهای خود محروم شده و علیرغم گذشت بیش از ۶ ماه از تاریخ دستگیری و اتمام مراحل بازجویی ها و بازپرسی به پرونده اش، با آزادی وی با تودیع وثیقه هم موافقت نشده است. وی از بیماری گرفتگی عروق قلب، کبد چرب، فشار خون بالا و آرتروز زانو، در رنج است و با توجه به کیفیت نامظلوب خدمات درمانی ارائه شده در زندان مهاباد و کهولت سن، این زندانی سیاسی از حق درمان قطعی بیماریهای خود محروم شده اما در تاریخ ۲۹ خرداد ماه ۱۴۰۴، با دستبند و پابند به بیمارستانی خارج از زندان، منتقل شدو پزشک وی هم پس از معاینه وضعیت جسمانی او را وخیم توصیف کرد.
روز شنبه ۲۲ آذر ۱۴۰۴، وی پس از یک سال بازداشت با قرار وثیقه ۴ میلیارد تومانی به صورت موقت از زندان مهاباد آزاد شد. پرونده وی به اتهام «عضویت در گروه های معارض» در شعبه اول بازپرسی دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب مهاباد در حالی رسیدگی است.
