Abbas Akbari Feyzabadi

According to reports, Abbas Akbari Feyzabadi, a native of Naein in Isfahan Province, was prosecuted by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic on charges including moharebeh ("enmity against God"), intentional destruction of public property, assembly and collusion against national security, and opening fire on government forces. He was sentenced to death, and his execution was carried out on 25 May 2026 (4 Khordad 1405). It is reported that Abbas Akbari was present on the streets with a handgun during protests on 8 and 9 January 2026, and allegedly fired at government officers. It has also been stated that a video was released as evidence in the case, but the images lack sufficient clarity, making it unclear whether any shots were fired or if anyone was hit. Prior to this report, Abbas Akbari's name had not appeared in media or human rights reports, and there was no available information about his arrest process, detention conditions, trial proceedings, or case details. It is also not yet clear whether he had access to a chosen lawyer during the trial or if a court-appointed lawyer was assigned to him. According to claims by the judiciary, the execution sentence for Abbas Akbari was carried out after being upheld by the Supreme Court.
