بر اساس گزارش ها ستاره قنبری اهل و ساکن شهر فریمان در اعتراضات دی ماه ۱۴۰۴ کشته شده است.
به گفته یک منبع آگاه ماموران امنیتی خانواده ستاره قنبری را به شدت تحت فشار گذاشتند تا او را «بسیجی» اعلام کنند.
این فرد آگاه می گوید: «فریمان شهر کوچک و به شدت سنتی و مذهبی در نزدیکی مشهد است. ستاره چون در فریمان همه همدیگر را می شناسند برای حضور در تجمعات ۱۸دی به مشهد رفت و آنجا کشته شد.»
نزدیکانش می گویند ستاره با ضربه باتوم به سرش کشته شده است: « این زن آنقدر بی صدا و غریب کشته شد که بعد از ۴۰روز فقط یک آگهی ترحیم از او در شهر دیده می شود. خانواده اش به شدت تهدید شدند و حتی برای سنگ قبر هم به آن ها اجازه داده نشد سنگی روی مزار دخترشان بگذارند.»
پیکر ستاره قنبری در آرامستان «بهشت صادق» فریمان به خاک سپرده شد و مراسم چهلم او در سکوت روز ۲۸بهمن۱۴۰۴ برگزار شد.

Her relatives say that Setareh was killed by a baton strike to her head: "This woman was killed so quietly and anonymously that only a memorial notice was seen in the city 40 days later. Her family was severely threatened, and they were not even allowed to place a tombstone on their daughter's grave."
Setareh Ghanbari's body was buried in the "Behesht Sadegh" cemetery in Fariman, and her fortieth-day ceremony was held in silence on February 17, 2026.
