The execution of Bahram Choobi Asl was carried out suddenly and in complete secrecy on Monday, Mehr 7, 1404 September 29, 2025 , despite no prior official news or human rights reports regarding his arrest, trial, or placement on death row. This level of secrecy paved the way for the implementation of a sentence that effectively took place out of public view.
Hours after the execution, Choobi Asls lawyer, Abolfazl Gholami, wrote on his Instagram that the Supreme Court had issued an order to halt the execution just one day before it was carried out and had sent the order to the relevant enforcement authority. According to him, his client — unaware of his legal rights, without any contact with his family or lawyer — was transferred from Evin Prison to another facility for the execution. The lawyer himself only learned of the execution through the media.

ساعاتی پس از اجرا، ابوالفضل غلامی، وکیل چوبی اصل، در اینستاگرام خود نوشت که دیوان عالی کشور یک روز پیش از اجرا دستور توقف اجرای حکم را صادر و به مرجع اجرای احکام ارسال کرده بوده است. به گفته او، موکلش بی اطلاع از حقوق قانونی خود، بی خبر از خانواده و وکیل از زندان اوین خارج و برای اجرا به زندانی دیگر منتقل شده و خودِ وکیل نیز خبر را از رسانه ها شنیده است.
