Abdolnaser Mohimani, a journalist and former head of the Golestan Province Press House, was reportedly arrested following a raid by security forces at his home in Gorgan. The arrest took place on the evening of 26 February 2026.

On 3 March 2026, he was released on bail.

Abdolnaser Mohimani, who has experience teaching English, had criticised the actions of the authorities in open letters addressed to officials of the Islamic Republic following the protests in December 2025. He had previously been arrested during the crackdowns in 2009.

عبدالناصر مهیمنی روزنامه نگار و رییس پیشین خانه ‎‎مطبوعات استان گلستان خبر بازداشت شد. بنا بر گزارش بازداشت وی با یورش ماموران امنیتی به منزل او در گرگان انجام شده است.
ماموران شامگاه پنجشنبه ۷ اسفند ۱۴۰۴ با یورش به خانه عبدالناصر مهیمنی این روزنامه نگار را بازداشت کرده اند.

روز چهارشنبه ۱۳ اسفندماه ۱۴۰۴، وی با تودیع وثیقه آزاد شد.

عبدالناصر مهیمنی که سابقه تدریس زبان انگلیسی نیز دارد پس از اعتراضات دی ۱۴۰۴ با انتشار نامه های سرگشاده خطاب به مقام های جمهوری اسلامی از عملکرد حاکمیت انتقاد کرده بود. او پیش تر نیز در جریان سرکوب های سال ۱۳۸۸ بازداشت شده بود
