Pedram Moini

On Thursday, November 16, 2023, Pedram Moeini, born in 1985, a resident of Kurdistan Province, son of Azizollah, who holds a PhD in Political Sociology from the University of Science and Research in Tehran, residing in the city of Baneh in Kurdistan Province, was summoned to the first branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office of that city for questioning and to be informed of the charges against him, based on a written notification he received.

According to the issued notification, it was stipulated that Pedram Moeini must appear before the first branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office of Baneh within five days from the date of receiving the notification to present his defense regarding the charges of propaganda activities against the regime in favor of one of the opposition parties, membership in opposing groups with the intent to disrupt national security, and illegal exit prior to the preparation of the indictment.

Additionally, an individual close to Pedram Moeini stated in a conversation with a human rights reporter in Iran: "Mr. Moeini received a dismissal order regarding the charge of propaganda activities against the regime in this case from the investigator of the first branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office of Baneh on November 1 of this year, but the case has been reopened, and he has been recharged with legal allegations."

It is worth mentioning that Pedram Moeini was arrested on June 11, 2023, at his workplace in the city of Baneh, Kurdistan Province, and transferred to the detention center of the Intelligence Office in Sanandaj to form a judicial case. He spent some time in a state of uncertainty and was released from Sanandaj Central Prison on July 2, 2023, after posting bail of 1 billion tomans.

Previously, during the nationwide protests of 2022, he was arrested in Tehran by security forces, transferred to Ward 209 of the Ministry of Intelligence located in Evin Prison, and underwent interrogation processes. He was then moved to Ward 240 of the Judicial Protection Information in the same prison, where he was informed of charges against him by the 33rd District Prosecutor's Office in Tehran for actions against national security, propaganda against the regime, and disrupting public order and tranquility through participation in protests.
