One of those arrested during the January 2026 protests was sentenced to three years and six months of discretionary imprisonment. Given that the individual had no prior criminal record, the sentence also included a 150 million toman fine, one year and six months of suspended imprisonment, two months of mandatory attendance at Friday prayers, and three months of participation in religious-ideological classes. The sentences were also upheld in full by the Razavi Khorasan Province Court of Appeals.
