According to reports, on the evening of 19 January 2024, plainclothes forces in Borujerd fired at the occupants of a Peugeot 206. As a result, a female physical education student from Borujerd Azad University passed away.
It has been stated that the plainclothes forces approached the vehicle and requested the occupants to stop and exit the car. Due to the fact that these individuals were in plain clothes, the driver became frightened and attempted to flee, leading to the shooting.
It has also been reported that security agencies have pressured the family and friends of these students not to disclose information about the incident. In this context, on 21 January 2024, two staff members from "Shahid Chamran" Hospital in Borujerd were summoned and threatened by the intelligence department.

گفته شده است که نیروهای لباس شخصی به اتومبیل نزدیک شده و از سرنشینان خواسته اند که توقف کنند و پیاده شوند. به دلیل اینکه این افراد لباس شخصی بر تن داشته اند، راننده ترسیده و اقدام به فرار کرده که در پی آن، تیراندازی صورت گرفته است.
همچنین گزارش شده است که نهادهای امنیتی خانواده و دوستان این دانشجویان را تحت فشار قرار داده اند تا درباره این موضوع اطلاع رسانی نکنند. در همین راستا، در تاریخ 1 بهمن 1402، دو نفر از پرسنل بیمارستان "شهید چمران" بروجرد توسط اداره اطلاعات احضار و تهدید شده اند.
