Hamid Korkor, a protester from the 2022 uprising, died by suicide during an armed confrontation in Izeh. This confrontation was broadcast live on Instagram on 8 March 2025. In the video, Korkor and three other individuals are seen. Korkor is shown firing outside the house briefly, while voices can be heard shouting their intention to surrender. Despite Korkor's repeated announcements of surrender, the shooting continued. He then placed a weapon under his chin and fired in front of the camera.
Korkor, who had been living in hiding for two years, was among the protesters of the 2022 demonstrations. Reports have identified the other three individuals as Hossein Mehri, Reza Abdollahzadeh, and Sohrab Ahmadi. Sohrab Ahmadi was injured while surrendering to security forces and succumbed to his severe injuries hours later. Following this incident, the atmosphere in Izeh became tense, and internet disruptions occurred. State-affiliated media referred to those involved in the confrontation as "armed troublemakers."
The death of Korkor prompted reactions from political activists and social media users. It has also been reported that government agents have moved Korkor's body to an undisclosed location, refusing to provide the family with the body or any information about its whereabouts. The Korkor family has been subjected to pressure from security agencies.
حمید کورکور یکی از معترضان خیزش ۱۴۰۱ بود که در حین درگیری مسلحانه در ایذه، خودکشی کرد. این درگیری در روز ۱۸ اسفند ۱۴۰۳ در ویدئویی به صورت زنده در اینستاگرام منتشر شد. در این ویدئو، کورکور و سه نفر دیگر دیده می شوند. کورکور برای لحظاتی به بیرون خانه تیراندازی می کند و صدای فریاد چند نفر شنیده می شود که می گویند قصد تسلیم شدن دارند. کورکور چندین بار اعلام کرد که تسلیم می شوند، اما تیراندازی ادامه یافت. وی سپس در مقابل دوربین سلاح را زیر گلویش گذاشت و شلیک کرد.
کورکور که از معترضان اعتراضات ۱۴۰۱ بود، دو سال در خفا زندگی می کرد. بر اساس گزارش ها، نام سه نفر دیگر حسین مهری، رضا عبدالله زاده و سهراب احمدی عنوان شده است. سهراب احمدی در حین تسلیم شدن توسط نیروهای امنیتی زخمی شد و ساعاتی بعد به علت جراحات شدید جان باخت. پس از این رویداد، جو شهر ایذه امنیتی شد و اینترنت مختل گردید. رسانه های وابسته به نظام جمهوری اسلامی از کسانی که در این درگیری شرکت داشتند به عنوان «اشرار مسلح» نام بردند.
کشته شدن وی واکنش هایی از سوی فعالان سیاسی و کاربران شبکه های اجتماعی در پی داشت. همچنین گزارش شده است که مأموران حکومتی پیکر ابول کورکور را به مکان نامعلومی منتقل کرده اند و از دادن جنازه یا نشانی از محل آن به خانواده کورکور خودداری می کنند. خانواده کورکور تحت فشارهای نهادهای امنیتی قرار گرفته اند.
