According to Hal Vash, on Monday, February 12, 2024, Abdolbaset Toutazeh, a resident of Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, and a political prisoner held in Ilam Central Prison, was released after serving 13 years and 6 months of his 20-year sentence.
Abdolbaset Toutazeh's release occurred after he had served 13 years and 6 months of his 20-year sentence as part of an amnesty on the occasion of February 11.
It is noteworthy that Abdolbaset Toutazeh was arrested by security forces on August 14, 2010. After being transferred to the detention center of the Intelligence Department in Zahedan and enduring nine intense interrogation sessions, he was charged by the prosecutor of the Zahedan Public and Revolutionary Court and transferred to Ward 5 of Zahedan Central Prison.
During the judicial proceedings, Abdolbaset Toutazeh was convicted by the judge of the First Branch of the Zahedan Revolutionary Court on charges of insulting Islamic sanctities, insulting security officers and government officials, supporting the Jundallah group, and illegal border crossing. He was sentenced to a total of 20 years of imprisonment along with exile to Ilam Central Prison. This verdict was upheld by the judges of the Appeals Court of Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
After the conclusion of the judicial proceedings and the issuance of the final verdict, Abdolbaset Toutazeh was transferred from Zahedan Central Prison to Tehran and then to Ilam Central Prison on June 16, 2011.
Among the tortures inflicted on Abdolbaset Toutazeh at the Zahedan Intelligence Detention Center were being subjected to mock executions, cable and PVC pipe beatings, whippings, and electric batons, all aimed at extracting forced confessions from him.

به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران به نقل از حال وش، روز دوشنبه ۲۳ بهمن ماه ۱۴۰۲، عبدالباسط توتازهی، اهل زاهدان مرکز استان سیستان و بلوچستان و زندانی سیاسی محبوس در زندان مرکزی ایلام، پس از سپری کردن ۱۳ سال و ۶ ماه از مجموع حبس تعزیری ۲۰ ساله خود از زندان مرکزی استان ایلام، آزاد شد.
براساس این گزارش، آزادی عبدالباسط توتازهی، در حالی که وی ۱۳ سال و ۶ ماه از مجموع حبس تعزیری ۲۰ ساله خود را سپری کرده بود در رستیا اعنال عفو به مناسبت ۲۲ بهمن صورت گرفته است.
لازم به اشاره است، عبدالباسط توتازهی، در تاریخ ۲۳ مرداد ماه ۱۳۸۹، توسط نیروهای امنیتی، دستگیر و پس از انتقال به بازداشتگاه اداره کل اطلاعات استان سیستان و بلوچستان در شهر زاهدان و تحمل ۹ بازجویی های فشرده، توسط بازپرس شعبه دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب زاهدان، تفهیم اتهام و به بند ۵ زندان مرکزی زاهدان، منتقل شد.
با آغاز مراحل دادرسی، عبدالباسط توتازهی، از بابت اتهامات توهین به مقدسات اسلامی ، توهین به ماموران امنیتی و مقامات حکومتی ، هواداری از گروه جندالله و خروج غیر مجاز از مرز زمینی ، توسط قاضی شعبه اول دادگاه انقلاب زاهدان، در مجموع به تحمل ۲۰ سال حبس تعزیری توام با تبعید به زندان مرکزی استان ایلام، محکوم شد و این حکم توسط قضات شعبه دادگاه تجدیدنظر استان سیستان . بلوچستان، عینا تائید شد.
پس از اتمام مراحل دادرسی و ابلاغ حکم قطعی به عبدالباسط توتازهی، وی در تاریخ ۲۶ خرداد ماه ۱۳۹۰، از زندان مرکزی زهدان به تهران و سپس به زندان مرکزی استان ایلام منتقل شده بود.
از جمله شکنجه های وارد شده به عبدالباسط توتازهی، در بازداشتگاه اداره اطلاعات زاهدان می توان به تحت معجزه ، ضربات کابل و لوله پولیکا ، شلاق و باتوم برقی ، یاد کرد که جملگی این شکنجه ها با هدف اعتراف گیری اجباری از این شهروند صورت گرفته است.
