The Iranian Independent Filmmakers Association has issued a statement expressing concern over the potential execution of Ali Safari, a theatre actor and university student. The association has called on cinematic centres and international organisations to increase pressure on Iran and its judiciary to save this artist and other detained artists.
According to released information, Ali Safari, a theatre actor and student at the University of Culture and Art, was arrested in Karaj during nationwide protests in Iran on 8 January 2026. As of now, no clear information has been released regarding the progress of his case or his current status. However, the charge of "moharebeh" was officially communicated to him on 29 January 2026.

بر اساس اطلاعات منتشر شده، علی صفری، بازیگر تئاتر و دانشجوی دانشگاه فرهنگ و هنر، در جریان اعتراضات سراسری ایران در تاریخ 18 دی 1404 در شهر کرج بازداشت شد. تاکنون اطلاعات روشنی درباره روند پرونده و وضعیت این بازیگر منتشر نشده است، اما اتهام محاربه در تاریخ 9 بهمن 1404 به طور رسمی به او تفهیم شده است.
