Tavakol Asadian was arrested at a memorial service for a fellow comrade. Following his arrest, and because his organizational role was known, he was subjected to excruciating torture. Tavakol uttered not a word and persisted in his resistance. Enraged by the comrade's steadfastness, the mercenaries burned him alive on November 24, 1981, and handed over his charred remains to his family.
