Reports indicate that on 18 January 2026, Erfan Esfandiari, a child residing in Isfahan, was arrested by plainclothes forces and transferred to an unknown location. Since the arrest, there has been no information available regarding his fate.
Despite efforts by Erfan Esfandiari's family, no information has been released about his whereabouts or condition. Subsequently, the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran carried out the execution of Erfan Esfandiari and Gol-Mohammad Mohammadi, an Afghan national, who were among the defendants in the case known as the "Ali Khani Square of Malek Shahr" at Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan. The lives of 10 other defendants in this case are reported to be at risk.
According to a report received by a human rights organisation, at dawn on 19 July 2026, the execution of at least two protesters, named Gol-Mohammad Mohammadi and Erfan Esfandiari, was carried out secretly. Simultaneously, media affiliated with the judiciary confirmed the execution of these sentences through a statement.
بر اساس گزارش ها، در تاریخ 28 دی 1404، عرفان اسفندیاری، کودک ساکن اصفهان، توسط نیروهای لباس شخصی بازداشت و به مکان نامعلومی منتقل شد. از زمان بازداشت تاکنون هیچ گونه اطلاعی از سرنوشت او در دسترس نیست.
با وجود پیگیری های خانواده عرفان اسفندیاری، تاکنون هیچ اطلاعاتی درباره محل نگهداری یا وضعیت او منتشر نشده است. در ادامه، دستگاه قضایی جمهوری اسلامی ایران حکم اعدام عرفان اسفندیاری و گل محمد محمدی، شهروند تبعه کشور افغانستان، دو تن از متهمان پرونده موسوم به «میدان علیخانی ملک شهر» را در زندان دستگرد اصفهان اجرا کرد. جان ۱۰ متهم دیگر این پرونده در خطر قرار دارد.
بر اساس گزارش رسیده به سازمان حقوق بشری، سحرگاه 28 تیر 1405، حکم اعدام دست کم دو تن از معترضان به نام های گل محمد محمدی و عرفان اسفندیاری مخفیانه اجرا شد. همزمان، رسانه های وابسته به قوه قضاییه با انتشار بیانیه ای اجرای این احکام را تایید کرده اند.
