جعفر تعمیرکار موبایل بود و از نظر مالی وضعیت بدی نداشت اما به گفته خانواده اش «برای اعتراض به ظلم و دفاع از هموطنانش به خیابان رفته بود.»
به گواه سنگ مزارش متولد بهمن ۱۳۵۸ بود.
