On Sunday, August 31, 2025, Hamidollah Selgi, a teachers' union activist and political prisoner, is serving his prison sentence in Nahavand County prison.
A source stated that Hamidollah Selgi, who was sentenced to 2 years and 7 months in prison, returned home with an electronic ankle bracelet after serving 4 months of his sentence. However, following the 12-day war with Israel in July 2025, a judge from the 18th branch of the Hamedan Court of Appeals revoked his electronic monitoring sentence, requiring him to serve the remainder of his sentence in Nahavand prison. It is noted that Nahavand prison lacks a political ward, and political prisoners are held with other inmates.
Hamidollah Selgi was sentenced on April 29, 2024, by a judge from the first branch of the Nahavand Revolutionary Court to 1 year in prison for "propaganda against the regime" and 2 years for "insulting the leadership on social media." His sentence was later reduced to 7 months and 15 days by a judge from the 11th branch of the Hamedan Court of Appeals.
According to the verdict issued by judges from the 11th branch of the Hamedan Court of Appeals, while Selgi was not serving his sentence, his case was referred to the 9th branch of the Supreme Court for a retrial. After the retrial was approved, this retired educator was sentenced on September 19, 2024, by the presiding judge and advisor of the 11th branch of the Hamedan Court of Appeals to 7 months and 16 days for "propaganda against the regime" and was acquitted of "insulting the leadership." In November 2024, he was summoned to the Nahavand Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office to serve his prison sentence.
Hamidollah Selgi was arrested on May 1, 2022, following a raid by security forces on his home in Nahavand County. After being transferred to a detention center of a security-intelligence agency in Hamedan Province and undergoing interrogation, he was released on bail on October 12, 2022.
In his first legal case, Selgi was sentenced by a judge from the Nahavand Revolutionary Court to 6 months in prison and a fine, but this sentence was suspended during the appeal process.
Hamidollah Selgi is a teachers' union activist in Nahavand and a lecturer at Azad University and Payame Noor University in the county. He had previously faced a teaching ban due to his civil activities.

به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، روز یکشنبه ۹ شهریور ماه ۱۴۰۴، حمیدالله سلگی، فعال صنفی فرهنگیان و زندانی سیاسی، در حال تحمل دوران حبس تعزیری خود در زندان شهرستان نهاوند است.
به نقل از یک فرد مطلع در گفتگو با گزارشگر حقوق بشر در ایران:”حمیداله سلگی که به ۲ سال و ۷ ماه زندان محکوم شده بود پس از گذراندن ۴ ماه از حبس تعزیری خود با پابند الکتر نیکی به خانه برگشته بود اما بعد از جنگ ۱۲ روزه با اسرائیل در مرداد ماه ۱۴۰۴ با رای قاضی شعبه ۱۸ دادگاه تجدیدنظر استان همدان، حکم حبس تحت نظارت قضایی «پابند الکترونیکی» این زندانی سیاسی لغو و بایست مابقی محکومیت خود را در زندان نهاوند سپری کند. لازم به ذکر است زندان نهاوند فاقد بند سیاسی است . محکومان سیاسی در بند سایر ین محکوم محبوس می گردند.”
لازم به ذکر است، حمیدالله سلگی، در تاریخ ۹ اردیبهشت ماه ۱۴۰۳، توسط قاضی شعبه اول دادگاه انقلاب شهرستان نهاوند، از بابت اتهام «فعالیت تبلیغی علیه نظام» به تحمل ۱ سال حبس تعزیری و به اتهام «توهین به رهبری در فضای مجازی» هم به تحمل ۲ سال حبس تعزیری محکوم شده بود و حکم وی توسط قاضی شعبه ۱۱ دادگاه تجدیدنظر استان همدان به ۷ ماه و ۱۵ روز حبس تعزیری تقلیل پیدا کرده بود.
براساس دادنامه صادره توسط قضات شعبه ۱۱ دادگاه تجدیدنظر استان همدان، پرونده حمیدالله سلگی، در عین اینکه وی در حال تحمل حبس خود نبود با پذیرش اعاده دادرسی به شعبه ۹ دیوان عالی کشور، ارجاع و پس از تائید اعاده دادرسی، این فرهنگی بازنشسته در تاریخ ۲۸ شهریور ماه ۱۴۰۳، توسط قاضی رئیس و مستشار شعبه ۱۱ دادگاه تجدیدنظر استان همدان، از بابت اتهام «تبلیغ علیه نظام» به تحمل ۷ ماه و ۱۶ روز حبس تعزیری محکوم و از بابت اتهام «توهین به رهبری» تبرئه و در آبان ماه ۱۴۰۳، برای سپری کردن دوران حبس تعزیری خود به شعبه اجرای احکام دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب شهرستان نهاوند، احضار شده بود.
حمیدالله سلگی، در تاریخ ۱۱ اردیبهشت ماه ۱۴۰۱، در پی یورش نیرهای امنیتی به منزل وی در شهرستان نهاوند، دستگیر و پس از انتقال به بازداشتگاه یکی از نهادهای امنیتی ـ انتظامی در استان همدان و طی مراحل بازجویی ها و تفهیم اتهام، در تاریخ ۲۰ مهر ماه ۱۴۰۱، با تودیع قرار وثیقه آزاد شد.
این فرهنگی اهل شهرستان نهاوند، در پرونده اول قضایی خود، توسط قاضی شعبه دادگاه انقلاب نهاوند، به تحمل ۶ ماه حبس تعزیری و پرداخت جریمه نقدی محکوم شد و این حکم در مرحله تجدیدنظرخواهی تعلیق شده بود.
حمیداله سلگی، فعال صنفی معلمان نهاوند و مدرس دانشگاه آزاد و پیام نور آن شهرستان است که پیش تر هم در پی فعالیتهای مدنی خود با منع تدریس مواجه شده بود.
